The best-selling Formula 1® Exhibition extends run in Madrid for the final time
Officially licensed by F1®, today the exhibition has released 45,000 new tickets as it extends its opening at IFEMA Madrid until 20 August 2023. Madrid is the first city to host the immersive exhibition, and the best-selling show has quickly become Spain’s biggest temporary exhibition of the year. The demand for tickets has remained high since the exhibition first opened in March, with weekend tickets selling out far in advance.
A new ticket package for groups has also been launched with a ‘buy five get one free’ incentive for visitors, as well as special weekday rates with tickets available from as little as €13.99.
Amongst those who have taken the chance to visit The Formula 1® Exhibition is French F1® driver, Pierre Gasly. Currently a driver for BWT Alpine F1® Team, Gasly’s famed 2020 Monza race winning car is one of the highlights of the exhibition, holding pride of place in the factory-themed Design Lab room.
Gasly said: “It’s of course really special to see my car displayed. When you win your first race you want to share this feeling with the world. The car embodies this day and I’m glad I get to share it with the fans coming to the exhibition.”
Talking of his own experience at the exhibition, Gasly said: “The exhibition in Madrid was amazing. It was so full of history, full of special items and testimonies, it was one of the most thorough exhibitions I’ve seen.”
As well as Gasly’s ‘Monza Miracle’ maiden race-winning car, the interactive show boasts a wide-range of unseen artefacts and exclusive contributions from the sport’s most legendary teams and personalities, including the first public display of a Scuderia Ferrari power unit since the early 2000s, and the remains of Romain Grosjean’s car from his dramatic 2020 crash in Bahrain.
Delivered across six purpose-built rooms, each specially designed in collaboration with award-winning curators, artists and film-makers, the show provides a stunning adventure through the extraordinary world of Formula 1®.
Produced in partnership with Round Room Live and delving far beyond what fans have ever seen before, the show uses bold, technology-led design features and large-scale interactive displays to lift the lid on the past, present and future of Formula 1®.
Several years in the making, the exhibition combines spectacular audio-visual design, rare film and imagery, engineering and educational displays, and iconic Grand Prix™ cars to deliver an unforgettable experience for everyone – from avid followers to younger fans and families.
Following its stay in Madrid, The Formula 1® Exhibition will move onto other European cities which will be announced in the coming months.
