Due to Overwhelming Demand: The Formula 1® Exhibition is extending its stay in Toronto!

The results are in! Due to unprecedented demand, The Formula 1® Exhibition Toronto presented by TSN will keep the wheels spinning in Toronto. Originally scheduled to open for only 10 weeks, the show today announced it will extend its run in downtown Toronto until mid-September. New tickets have been released and are on sale now at  F1Exhibition.ca.

The F1® Exhibition made its high-octane, North American debut in Toronto on May 3rd at the Lighthouse Artspace Toronto at One Yonge Street, providing Formula 1® fans and enthusiasts with unparalleled access to F1® cars, artifacts, and exclusive footage. Fans are immersed in 20,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space that tells the story behind the sport using engaging, visual multi-media displays and large-scale installations.

Visitors have been captivated by the show since doors opened in early May. “The F1 Exhibition is simply superb and reflects the rich history and personalities behind the sport. One visit simply isn’t enough to take in all the components of this dazzling show, I will definitely be back this summer!” said Melanie Villeneuve, daughter of legendary Canadian driver Gilles Villeneuve.

Toronto Raptors player Scottie Barnes raved that: “It was a great experience!” while The Globe and Mail declared: “Formula 1: The Exhibition is a museum-grade show for the Drive to Survive crowd.” The Toronto Star reported: “If you want to witness the science and art of racing up close, the show brings it.”

This immersive and interactive experience takes visitors through six purpose-built rooms, each specially designed in collaboration with award-winning curators and filmmakers, featuring artifacts ranging from 1887-2023.

Boasting a wide range of exclusive contributions from a long list of F1® legends including Ayrton Senna, Gilles Villeneuve,Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Kevin Magnussen, the show features four iconic Formula 1® race cars, over 90 helmets, two previously worn race car suits and authentic race car remains from Romain Grosjean’s dramatic 2020 crash in Bahrain.

Guests can capture themselves on screen through Lewis Hamilton’s mounted helmet camera and discover how an F1® steering wheel functions with a brand-new interactive experience. An interactive screen allows you to deconstruct a Formula 1® car and examine its parts, plus guests can see how their reflexes compare to F1® drivers with an exciting digital reaction game. Visitors can also experience what it’s like to get behind the wheel of an F1® car in authentic, state-of-the-art racing simulators.

The show also honours Canada’s contribution to F1® with several highlights including the bodywork of Gilles Villeneuve’s 1977 Ferrari 312 T2 and his 1979 helmet. A retrospective of Canadian Grand Prix photos, shot between 2014 and 2019 in Montreal by photographer Darren Heath, line the At Shutter Speed gallery presented by TSN leading to the grand finale Pit Wall experience.

“We knew the F1 Exhibition would be a hit in Toronto, but the city’s overwhelming response has wildly exceeded our expectations,” said Jonathan Linden, Toronto native and Producer of The Formula 1® Exhibition. “Fans and followers of the sport will now have all summer to add the exhibition to their must-visit list.”

Produced in partnership with Round Room Live and Pathfinder Live, and delving far beyond what fans have ever seen before, the show uses bold, technology-led design features and large-scale interactive displays to lift the lid on the past, present and future of Formula 1®.
