The Rooms

The exhibition includes seven principle rooms, each specially commissioned for the show and produced in partnership with award-winning curators, artists, and filmmakers, offering a unique perspective on the extraordinary story of Formula 1.

Tracing the influences of Enzo Ferrari and Ayrton Senna to the unprecedented impact of Netflix’s Drive To Survive series, the exhibition combines an unprecedented mix of historic and modern-day race cars, previously unseen film and interviews, artefacts and interactive elements including racing simulators.

Group bookings

The F1® Exhibition is able to accommodate group sales of 14 or more as well as host private events for groups of 50 or more. For more information, go here to submit a request.

No, unfortunately we do not provide hearing loop capability within the Exhibition Bays.

There are no specific Sensory Friendly Sessions to book at this time. Please email [email protected] to know quieter times to visit or for further assistance with planning your visit.

There is an English audio guide for the entire exhibition, except for in Once Upon Time in Formula 1 and Pit Wall, which have live sound.

MCEC welcomes assistance animals inside the venue that are suitably trained. Documentation may be requested to demonstrate evidence of the animals status and that the animals training meets public space hygiene and behaviour standards.

Accessible toilets, ramps, and lifts are available throughout the venue. Accessible toilets are located within close proximity to the exhibition in the concourse opposite the exhibition entry.

MCEC offers limited wheelchairs for day loans, with wider wheelchairs available if needed.

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is accessible for people with mobility requirements. The exhibition takes place on the ground floor, which is all on one level. An accessible toilet is available.

No, this is not necessary. The exhibition is located on the ground floor and all on one level.

The exhibition is accessible to all ages. However, there is a lot of reading. Parental discretion is advised when deciding if the exhibition will be suitable for your child.

If you misplace something within the exhibition please alert a member of staff and they will try to help you retrieve your belongings. If you believe you have lost property at the centre after your visit, please call 9235 8000, email the venue at [email protected], or head to a Customer Service Desk. Alternatively please email [email protected] and a member of the team will assist.

There are no lockers available at the exhibition, however a small cloaking service will be operational, subject to availability. Alternatively guests can visit the MCEC Customer Service Desk at Convention Centre place where staff can assist with coat, pram or luggage storage. Bags or Backpacks larger than A4 will not be allowed inside the Exhibition.

There is no dress code but we advise customers to please dress comfortably as this is a walk-through, interactive exhibition.

The Exhibition is a walk-through experience, and we encourage visitors to explore at their own pace. There are limited seating options available inside for rest as needed.

Hand held cameras (including DSLR) can be brought into the exhibition and guests are welcome to take photos and share them. When taking photos, please make sure not to disturb other visitors and do not use a flash. Tripods and professional accessories are not permitted.

Yes, there is heating if required.

The exhibition will be held in an indoor venue.

The audio for the exhibition is in English. Videos will have subtitles. Written content is available in English

No food and drink are allowed to be consumed inside the exhibition. You will be asked to dispose of any open foods/drinks before entering the exhibition.

Exceptions on medical grounds can be made but water must be in a lidded/sealed bottle. Please make the staff aware upon arrival.

Please note we are a cashless site throughout.

Yes. There will be a shop at the end of the exhibition selling many official products and a wide range of exclusive The F1® Exhibition items.

You can also visit the shop during our regular exhibition opening hours without a ticket to The F1® Exhibition.

Two rooms in the exhibition, the first OUTF1 and the last, contain fast-flashing images and lighting, which may affect visitors who are susceptible to photosensitive conditions.

The entry ends 15 minutes after the start of the last bookable time slot, the exhibition itself closes two hours after the last bookable time slot. The visit to the exhibition lasts approx. 90 minutes. You will therefore have enough time to explore the exhibition.

There is no age limit but users must meet a minimum height requirement of 140cms (1.4 metres). (Younger children will not be allowed to sit on an adults lap). For safety and equipment purposes it is recommended that a weight limit of 120kg apply.

The Simulator is a unique experience brought to you by The F1® Exhibition. It is not the same as F1 Arcade, F1 Drive or Silverstone Museum’s simulator ‘ride’.

Visitors can experience what it’s like to sit behind the wheel of an F1 car. The seat and shape configuration mirrors the mannequin F1 driver positions which you learn about in the Drivers and Duels room.

Simulator duration: Approximately 8 minutes

There is no age limit but users must meet a minimum height requirement of 140cms (1.4 metres). (Younger children will not be allowed to sit on an adult’s lap.)

The exhibition is approximately a 90-minute experience (minimum), but you are welcome to stay and browse for as long as you like. Entry closes 15 minutes after the final timeslot begins.

The F1® Exhibition is a touring exhibition. Follow our social media accounts or sign up to our newsletter for future city announcements.

The F1® Exhibition is a touring exhibition and will therefore only be in Melbourne for a short period of time. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, we recommend booking as soon as possible so you don’t miss this interactive experience.

The F1® Exhibition is open seven days a week from 9am. Entry closes 15 minutes after the final timeslot begins, and the exhibition closes two hours after the last bookable time slot.

From audio-visual spectaculars to elegantly curated displays, The F1® Exhibition provides a dazzling journey through one of sport’s most spectacular stories across seven purpose-built rooms, each specially designed in partnership with award-winning artists, filmmakers and craftsmen.

The exhibition is not suitable for animals with the exception of service animals that are suitably trained. Documentation may be requested to demonstrate evidence of the animals status and that the animals training meets public space hygiene and behaviour standards.

If you are late or experience any travel issues, please speak to one of our stewards at our exhibition upon arrival and they will try and accommodate your booking at the next available slot. This is not guaranteed.

Parents room and baby change facilities are located within the exhibition centre close to the Customer Service Desk behind Goldfields Café.

Toilets are located at the entry/exit to the exhibition. Toilets are also available within the exhibition.

Prams and buggies are not allowed to be brought into the exhibition. A cloaking service will be in operation, subject to availability and with limited pram spaces. To avoid disappointment, we kindly ask where possible for prams and buggies to be left at home or visit the Customer Service Desk at Convention Centre place for pram and buggy storage.

The exhibition is a child-friendly environment.

Food and beverages, flash photography, prams and buggies, alcohol, smoking, vaping, umbrellas and anything which may disturb the other patrons.

The weather will not impact the exhibition as it is indoors. We always aim to limit and reduce queuing outside the entrance.

It is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes before your pre-booked session time.

Bags and backpacks larger than A4 will not be allowed inside the exhibition. A cloaking service will be operational subject to availability. Alternatively guests can visit the Customer Service Desk at Convention Centre Place prior to entering the exhibition if you require bag or luggage storage.

Ticketek acts as the only authorised seller for The F1 Exhibition Melbourne.

Tickets for infants aged 0-4 years are free of charge, but they are still required for entry. Please ensure you add this ticket to your basket when completing your purchase.

Availability for the Simulator is limited, and tickets can only be booked alongside a ticket to the exhibition. Tickets can be purchased at the box office onsite, however due to limited capacity, we strongly recommend booking in advance.

You may purchase the Simulator experience as an add-on only to any ticket to The F1® Exhibition purchased via Ticketek (subject to availability). One per ticket purchase only. If you exceed the ticket limit, the additional tickets will be cancelled without notice.

These are exclusively sold via Ticketek and not available to buy separately.

The Simulator must be purchased at the same time as your exhibition ticket. Unfortunately, you are unable to add the simulator to your booking at a later date.

No, if you purchased your ticket(s) through Ticketek, your tickets will be in your Ticketek app. You can download your tickets from your order history. To access your order history please sign in to your Ticketek Account here.

Yes, holders of a government-issued companion card can access a free ticket for their companion. Proof of eligibility will be required upon entry.

Yes. We will accommodate you in the next available timed session on the day. Please be patient during busier periods.

Yes. All tickets are strictly non-refundable. If you wish to exchange your tickets, please download the Ticketek app and login with your email address and password created to place your order. Once logged in, you’ll be able to exchange your tickets (subject to availability). Please click here for more information on how Ticket Exchange works. Exchanges are unavailable within 24 hours of the date you are due to attend.

We recommend booking in advance online. Tickets will be on sale at the venue when not sold out, only on days that the exhibition is open.
Tickets purchase on the day (online and at the box office) will incur an additional fee of $4 per adult (17+) and $2 per child (5-16).

Yes, Wilson Parking offers flexible rates and secure underground parking at the Exhibition Centre. It also has accessible parking with lift access up to Door 1, 6 and 10 in the Exhibition Centre.
