Haas VF-20 race car to be exclusively displayed at The Formula 1® Exhibition in Toronto
Fans will have rare opportunity to look under the hood of the Ferrari powered race car from the US-based team with the engine cover removed
The Formula 1® Exhibition is revved up to reveal a new addition in Toronto. The original MoneyGram Haas F1 Team VF-20 Race Car, driven by Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean in 2020, will be on display exclusively when the ground-breaking show makes its North American debut in Toronto on May 3.
The Haas VF-20, designed specifically for the 2020 Formula 1® World Championship, saw both Danish driver Kevin Magnussen and French/Swiss driver Romain Grosjean behind the wheel with MoneyGram Haas F1® Team. The car will be exclusively on display in Toronto, where in an extremely rare occurrence, the engine cover will be removed, giving fans a fascinating look under the hood of an F1® car, and at the powerhouse behind it, the 2020 Ferrari Power Unit.
F1® teams are known for their extreme secrecy regarding design and technology, and US-based MoneyGram Haas F1® Team have worked in partnership with The Formula 1® Exhibition team to ensure this masterpiece of engineering can be made available for fans to enjoy when the show opens.
“The addition of the Haas VF-20 race car is a significant and exciting addition to the F1 Exhibition that fans of the sport simply can’t see anywhere else,” said Jonathan Linden, Producer of The Formula 1® Exhibition. “By stripping away the bodywork, we’re unveiling the heart of the machine, offering fans an intimate view of the Ferrari Power Unit like never before.”
The Haas VF-20 will be displayed in Design Lab, a factory-themed experience that offers a rare glimpse into how five Formula 1® teams meticulously develop the different components for each season’s new car.
In the exhibition’s Survival room, previously unseen parts of the VF-20 Romain was driving during his dramatic crash at the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix will also be on display, with more details to be revealed in the coming weeks.
The all-new F1® Exhibition opens May 3, 2024 and will run until early summer at the Lighthouse ArtSpace Toronto. Tickets went on sale less than two weeks ago to huge demand from the public, breaking ticket sales records of previous exhibitions.
Boasting a wide range of exclusive contributions from the sport’s most legendary teams and personalities, highlights will include iconic Formula 1® race cars from different eras as well as never-seen-before artifacts and video material. For the first time, visitors can also experience what it’s like to get behind the wheel of an F1® car in the state-of-the-art simulators.
Tickets for The Formula 1® Exhibition Toronto presented by TSN are on sale and available at F1Exhibition.ca.
