The Williams FW13B on display at The Formula 1® Exhibition Amsterdam

The Formula 1® Exhibition is excited to announce that the iconic Williams FW13B, one of the most technically advanced cars of the early 1990s, will be showcased when The F1® Exhibition Amsterdam opens at De Kromhouthal on April 17, 2025.

Driven by Belgian racer Thierry Boutsen during the 1990 season, the FW13B marked both the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for the Williams team. Featuring the distinctive Canon livery and designed under the leadership of Patrick Head, it was the final car fully developed before Adrian Newey joined the team. The FW13B achieved a memorable victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where Boutsen famously held off Ayrton Senna with a masterclass in defensive driving.

The 1990 Formula 1® season was defined by fierce rivalries, rapid innovation, and shifting dynamics. Amidst legendary names like Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, the FW13B held its own in the competitive midfield—and at times, far beyond. The car stood out for its low-slung, compact design, aerodynamic efficiency, and reliable Renault V10 engine. It represents a pivotal moment in Williams’ history, paving the way for the team’s dominant years later in the decade.

Opening on April 17, 2025, at De Kromhouthal in Amsterdam
